Business Networking for FUN & Profit!
Is it hard for you to participate in Networking Events?
Well, you’re not the only one! It seems that even considering attending yet another events creates anxiety in the souls of even the most seasoned of business professionals. The reason is that we’ve never been taught a networking system – we’re just told to “go network”. This combined with the fact that almost everyone attending Networking Oregon Events are attempting especially hard to sell you their stuff. It seems that they think Networking in Oregon is Selling and their theme song is: Some will! Some won’t! Some wait! So What?!? I’ll just keep on asking and I’m asking you next… Here are my favorite networking pointers to help take the Fear Factor out of Networking..
- Before you register, set a clearly defined intention and strategy for the networking mixer. Your intention could be to connect with three excellent links that may be my perfect business relationships. My strategy is to have the host to take me around.
- Give out your business cards rarely. Most people at business events play the “I collected the most business cards therefore, I WIN” game – but they never follow-up or they will start spamming your inbox. Rely on your your intuition to fulfill your intention. TIP: For networking success, control your business cards.
- Have your Introduction Speech in harmony with your intention allowing the attendees to recommend your intended connections.
- Be the one to introduce others. Your leading by example plants seeds of reciprocity.
- Listen between the lines, everything that you desire is revealed in what other people are saying both directly and indirectly.
- Focus on your intention being fulfilled. This allows you to bypass the time wasters.
When you do the math you’ll find that only about 1% of Oregon Business Community attends Networking Oregon Events. But, Business Networking works because the 1% that do attend Networking Events in Oregon can get you appointments with the 99% that never show up! That is if you are educated to use a Networking Program and have clear intentions and strategies.
