Infant Boy Crib Sets Cues
It is always fun to start decorating a nursery but sometimes deciding on a theme can seem like a daunting task. Before decorating, it is easiest to decide on a bedding set and decorate around that theme. If you are at a loss regarding the theme to use for the bedding, following are some possibilities.
As boys like strong and daring colors, this is an ideal place to begin purchase of baby bedding. Bold colors have become chic rather than gaudy. Although animal themes are much sought after by children of both genders, boys and girls differ in their choice of animals. Little boys usually favor animals that they consider to be strong and bold while little girls are more nurturing and prefer animals that are cuddly. For an infant boy a Noah’s Ark theme is nice. If you want a theme that will grow with your son choose a jungle theme instead.
Another great choice for your son’s nursery is a cowboy motif. After all, what boy has not daydreamed of being a cowboy? Fabrics like denim, leather, ultra suede and plaid are generally used for cowboy themes which generally imparts the set a genuine look. In addition, you will notice many a times, that the images of sheriff’s stars,horses, and wagons appear conspicuously in these crib bedding sets. Usually fleece blankets with cowboy scenes are an appropriate choice for boys. Flannel is also an option.
A favorite pastime of many men is sports – and this does not exclude little boys. Baby boy’s bedding is often team-specific, reflecting the favorite team and sport of Mom and Dad. Some bedding sets are available with sports based themes; like, football, baseball etc. Perhaps the best theme choice for your son is sports, in general. You never know which he will prefer as he grows older, and the room can grow with his interests.
If you are hoping to have a large family, there are other choices to consider when buying baby bedding. Another option to finding a nursery theme that will grow with your son is to purchase gender neutral bedding that can be used for any future children. Each child will be able to choose their own theme for the bedroom when they’re toddlers and old enough to have preferences. If you are not sure whether the baby will be a boy or a girl or simply prefer it not to be gender specific, then go with a neutral pattern such as geometric shapes, alphabet and numbers or cartoon characters similar to Winnie the Pooh.
Take your time when choosing baby boy bedding. It may be tempting to buy frilly bedding for an infant but when he gets older, you will have to replace it, so buying something more masculine would be more economical in the long run. It is very economical to buy a “three in one” style crib because there is no need to buy a new crib or bed every few years.
