Stomach surgery is known under many different names with the most common being gastric bypass surgery. Stomach surgery although risky, costs the world billions of dollars each year. However, the cost of an obese society would be much more than that considering the cost of health care for an aging, obese population. For those that have tried other ways to lose weight, surgery may be their only hope and it has been proven to be effective.
